During my walk this morning had the pleasure of listening to two New England podcasters - John Wall from The M Show was interviewing Steve Runner from Pheddipidations. The funny thing about the interview is they were running while they talked. In fact, they were running part of the Boston Marathon and planned to go from Hopkinton to Cleveland Circle in Boston.
I'm sorry... what are these people thinking! Hopkinton to Boston? Those are stops on the train station and there are several stops in between. As far as I'm concerned that's why god created the T.
Steve Runner is planning on podcasting while he runs the upcoming Boston Marathon on Monday. What amazes me about this is not so much that he's running as that he will be able speak clearly. There are times during my measly 30 minute walk when I can't keep up the banter with Erin and Carrie.
It is amazing how my morning walk has started to dictate how my family's morning goes. When I walk the morning seems to go smoothly - showers get taken, kids get dressed, lunches made and (generally), I'm out of the house on time with children in tow.
When I don't walk? Forget it. Everything goes to hell.
The last "non-walking" morning I told Steve that it was difficult to be the linchpin for our family's morning. Too much pressure!
Daylight Savings Time put a crimp in my walking. Just as we were starting to enjoy the warmer weather and the rising sun, we turned back the clocks and the temperature dropped. It was almost more then I could take and I spent a couple of extra mornings in bed.
But now I'm back on track and my neighbors will see me walking everyday for the next couple of weeks - we have a vacation planned in Florida and I just bought a new bikini.
By the way Steve Runner - Good luck! I'll be in downtown Natick cheering you and the rest!
