Manic Manic Mommies

Sunday, September 16, 2007

The mommies are a little more manic than usual this week! We are busy putting the final touches on the Escape weekend (while trying to convince every mom we know to sign up) and some exciting opportunities are presenting themselves. But exciting opportunities usually mean one thing: more work for us. Seriously, it's time Manic Mommies Media gets some help on the payroll. Oh yeah, we're not even on the payroll. Despite our LLP designation, this is really a non-profit organization. We do it because we believe in it and know that moms everywhere are hungry for our unfiltered, refreshingly honest take on motherhood.

This week we're doing something pretty exciting. The Manic Mommies are moving into video. Don't worry, you won't see an hour of us on your iPods every week. Who could stand it? We're going to start appearing weekly on Boston.tv in brief little video snippets we're calling "sanity savers."

This is new territory for both of us. While no stranger to media, I'm generally more comfortable behind the camera. I hate having my picture taken and reading a teleprompter without my glasses should be nothing short of pure comedy. Not to mention my hair. Do I wear it signature curly or blown-out straight like a true TV personality? These are the things that keep me up at night (along with wondering if I've filled out all of my son's emergency contact paperwork for school and whether I should get Botox before my 20 year high school reunion). I've got to ten scripts write and rehearse before Thursday and I have to get Kristin to rehearse her scripts as well.

We've got a new show to record on Wednesday night, all of October's shows to book, ads on deadline for the Escape and, oh yeah, full-time jobs and households to run.

When I say all this to Kristin she just looks at me, as only a friend and business partner can. And then she says, "We have only ourselves to blame. We did this on our own."

It's true. No one asked for this podcast. No one asked for this mom's weekend away to Newport. What in God's name were we thinking?!?

You forgot to mention our latest e-newsletter which is scheduled to go out tomorrow, sending out the prize from last month's edition, banner ads to produce for MommyTrack'd.... but perhaps, most important of all... WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR???

Hi Manic Mommies,
Do you need a helping hand?? Can other Manic Mommies help you out? Please let us know. I'm sure there are some Manic Mommies out there that have a few extra minutes during the week to lend a hand.
A lot of the things you listed we can't do...but I know that I don't want your podcast to end. I count on it too much to get me through my week. :)
