Today is wet, rainy and cool and, for the first time in months, we have almost nothing planned for the weekend. Because of the weather, Steve can't work on projects outside, and can instead take Anders to his soccer game.
It's time to start potty training Sophie.
I've pulled out all 10 pairs of Anders' old cotton training pants and the Baby Bjorn potty.
I've rolled up the rugs, put a gate at the bottom of the steps (upstairs is carpeted) and placed a roll of paper towels and spray bottle of cleaner within easy reach. I'm thinking about putting something absorbent on the sofas and chairs, but I'm not sure I have anything.
The sippy cups and juice boxes are ready to help fill her little bladder (and increase our potty-practicing opportunities), as is the bottle of chocolate syrup we will be using for rewarding Sophie for successful potty-going.
It's 8:30 am on Saturday, September 15th. Potty training is on.
Whoops. Sophie just pooped in her first pair of training pants.
It's going to be a very long weekend.
