Hi guys! I just wanted to let you know that I LOVE your show! This episode was great and I was glad to hear that my children aren't doomed to a life of malnutrition because I feed them chicken nuggets sometimes! I was also glad to hear the section on kids saying "Ewww!" to food. When I was little my mother would give us a tiny portion of the foods she knew we didn't like. If we said ewww, she would smile and give us another portion! We stopped that REAL quick!

Ah! The 'whats for dinner question' complicated by the what the heck will they eat question! I read something recently and it jogged my memory to something my mom used to do: putting out raw veggies as an appetizer for kids while you are cooking (cucumber/carrots with ranch) is a great way for them to whet their appetite on some healthy food. Its an easy thing for them to help prepare, and they gobble it up because they are made hungry by all the yummy cooking smells.

Another thing a lot of parents have been doing lately is bringing their kids to cooking class. It is a great way to get kids interested in eating healthy and different kinds of food. Nothing beats the pride they have when they serve it to hungry parents either. The New York Kids Club currently has a list of cooking classes for kids 2-12. They also have lots of innovative programs like martial arts/rock climing/dance/music making just in case there is a sibling that wants to get in on the action.

Good luck with dinner time!
