Frontline: Growing Up Online
Thursday, January 17, 2008

Listen this week as we (okay Erin did this one, I had to work) interview FRONTLINE producer Rachel Dretzin about her newest project "Growing Up Online." From cyber bullying to instant "Internet fame," to the specter of online sexual predators, Rachel investigated the risks, realities and misconceptions of teenage self-expression on the World Wide Web, and now she's sharing with the Manic Mommies!

Hi, Thanks for including another great podcast that relates to issues facing school-age kids. Moms want the internet to be useful for our families, but at the same time we need to keep our kids educated on the dangers that lurk online. I'm looking forward to listening to the podcast when I take the dog for her walk. Keep up the great work.

I can't believe more people haven't commented on this. When I am not a mom, staying at home for the time being, I am a social worker who has seen all too much of these kind of issues. Near here, another family faced the suicide of their daughter after cyberbullying. It is frightening and enlightening. Thanks for keeping us up to speed with great programming!
