On Friday I am traveling to Florida for a mom blogger event at Disney. That's right, I am going to Disney World in Orlando without my kids. It seems a little odd, truthfully, to be going to Disney without them, but how could I turn down the chance to get away?

I have not told my kids I am going to Disney. Instead I said I am going to Florida to visit my parents (who I will see when the festivities are over on Sunday).

I'm really looking forward to getting away for some R & R and seeing how the pros organize a mom's weekend. When we planed the Escape last year we pulled it all together on a shoestring and with a lot of sweat and tears on my part. We're currently entertaining proposals for our Escape 08 and I am really feeling the pressure to make it better than the last one! I'm eager to see what Disney will do for the mom bloggers and I'm hoping to make some great new connections.

But before I can go, I have to make sure everything is set on the home front. Whenever I travel (for business mostly) I have to line up child care, make sure there's food in the fridge and that my husband is well aware of who needs to be where when. For this trip, Mike had to take the day off on Friday to watch Brendan since I usually do not work and do not have day care. And wouldn't you know that Friday night is Tommy's first T-ball practice? Not only will I not be around, but Mike will now have to bring Brendan to the practice.

My to-do list for tomorrow is quite long. I have a lot to wrap up before I leave on Friday. But I'll be sure to post about my adventures in Orlando. I am really, really looking forward to that Florida weather...and a mojito.
