Erin,

I too understand not knowing what to tell others what to bring for your son's birthday party. My son is also totally into Lego Star Wars and his birthday was the 5th of June. I just kept telling everyone, he likes lego and star wars, and all that. He opened a few presents from family the night before his birthday, and they gave him all the things I had gotten for him. So I tucked him into bed, left my husband at home, and ran to the store to return what I had bought and hoped to find something new and exciting that he didn't have! Oh they need to add more Star Wars stuff just for birthday gifts! :)

Oh, how timely this is. My daughter's 6th birthday is at the end of July, right before my husband's retirement from the Air Force. While I am afraid she'll get lost in the retirement shuffle, I also don't want to go over the top. Right now, it will be a few friends, party with a purpose (all her cousins will be here for the retirement...enough presents there), and High School Musical. Thanks for all the info in this show.

BTW, I think it is totally fine for our kids to watch HSM. At 6, they need harmless entertainment, we can tolerate the music, and they are sometimes coming away from the little kid shows. Ok, now I am singing all the darn songs....
